About me
Diana Steakley-Freeman is a Senior Lead Software Engineer at the Obama Foundation, where she leads the architecture and delivery of the digital experiences for the Obama Presidential Center. A social scientist by training and software engineer by trade, she brings over a decade of experience building accessible, humane technology across academic, nonprofit, and civic contexts. As one of two Founding Engineers at the Barack Obama Foundation, she architected the hybrid cloud/on-premises platform — including its real-time event system, content delivery infrastructure, and bespoke accessibility tooling — that powers the campus, leading the team that delivered it. She is a lifelong Chicagoan.
